Edwardian Personification

There's something about an animal in formal wear, posing for a commissioned oil painting that just makes me smile. Make it a giraffe in Edwardian dress standing in Classical-style room and you've got interior decorating gold. I plan on scouring every thrift store in the Lehigh Valley for two prime examples of such painting ( all animals will be considered ). I just do not want something that gets anywhere near being kitschy or cutesy ( like that bulldog calendar or even the weimaraner ones that were big in the early nineties ).

I've also always been a fan of the way Amelie had two paintings of animals above her bed ( in her fantastically red room ).

how sweet is this bed? it's from written afterwards, a japanese designer, but i couldn't find it on the site, it's probably more of an art exhibition piece than something i can buy and put in my room (sad face).
